As part of our ongoing series introducing the UNILINK Sports student-athlete class of 2017, we asked future University of Portsmouth student and basketball player Dan Campion about the application process.

Dan Campion had previously played and studied at Northland College, a NCAA D3 basketball program located in Ashland, Wisconsin. Dan, who plays as a point/shooting guard had been awarded Northland College’s Male Athlete of the Year award as well as a Conference 1st Team selection.

Dan, what interested you about coming to the UK and what are you most looking forward to?

I was interested in the unique experience to study aboard while getting my masters in sports management as well as getting the chance to further my basketball career.

What made you choose the University of Portsmouth?

I choose Portsmouth University because they had the master program that I was interested in.

How easy was the application process?

The application process was pretty easy. UNILINK Sports connected me with the admissions and athletic departments, letting me know what steps I needed and when to do them.

What do you know about the level of basketball in England/UK?

I do not know much about the level of basketball in the U.K. is but I am excited to find out.

Dan will be studying for a Sports Management postgraduate degree at the University of Portsmouth this Fall. We wish him all the best as he embarks on a new chapter in his student-athlete career.
